Building Menus and Snap to Grid/ Block

Can we get a better snap to grid/block building system? 🙇‍♂ I am finding it really awkward to place stuff.
I tried adding 2 gatling guns to my first ship and they were floating in space. The Ship Building "tutorial" task doesn’t explain any of how to actually build a ship 🤔🤨
Also, having to hold the analogue sticks in a specific direction to select build items instead of selecting by highlighting the item is frustratingly difficult for a disabled user
