Turbolift aka Ability to move pilot to another cockpit

Some ship designs use multiple cockpits with specialized function and toolbars. In time critical situations, it would be nice to be able to switch a cockpit without the need to leave the ship. It could rely on large conveyor connection and on assumption, that pilots fit/can be squeezed into a large cargo packet.
Cargo is transferred instantaneously, so I would not bother with delay/animation from inside the conveyor system for this functionality, though being ejected into space at high velocity from unclosed conveyor after target cockpit was destroyed in middle of pilot transfer is a funny idea :).
