Trading Terminal Block

Keen had mentioned a currency system for their games and at first I was confused about how this would work. After hours of daydreaming I have come up with a way to make Trading and Currency a reality for Space Engineers! This would be a new block called the Trading Terminal added in the game to allow factions to come together and trade resources the other might not have. Also NPC ships could have a trading ship with trade deals so that people playing single player could interact with and still have a small "business". These NPC ships would float around the system advertising their trade deals to any faction that wants to talk business. I have listed more of my ideas below for this new block please read them :) I have would love to see this incorporated into the game!


*The main purpose of this would be to connect ships to the grid that the Trading Terminal is on and then display both inventories to both parties with the prices. Space Engineers would have its own currency and every item would be priced accordingly.


*Trading could be an option. for instance if one party needed uranium and the other needed iron, the terinal would use the prices of these two items and show how much iron you can get for uranium and vice verse.


*Another thing called a Trade List. This section would allow you to request trades for certain items. for instance if a faction is on a planet and needs platinum they can request a trade (and display what items they can trade?) Then a faction or player who is in space sees this in the Trade List and needs iron. so they message the first faction and then meet up for the trade or just to sell them the platinum. Then the player in space can in turn use that money to buy components or ore or whatever they need!


*This block would also work like an ATM machine (sort of). Every player would have their own account with their own money and other stats like number of trades and allow you to watch trades (kinda like on ebay lol) then when a faction is made there is a faction account that only the leaders and the officers could authorize transactions and trades.


*Trading Ships. this is something im really excited for. A new player starts with an amount of money and can optionally spawn on a trading station. the trading station would have ships available to purchase. these ships are split into groups; mining, exploration, combat, or cargo. Then the player can start trading and build up by doing whatever they chose to do! this creates "jobs" through different parts of the system. perhaps you can hire independent people to go get certain resources or destroy certain bases (or factions?)


I believe that this system added in game would open up what Space Engineers can really do. This would add another level of gameplay to the game and would encourage player interaction. Feel free to comment your ideas and thoughts and thanks for reading!
