Toolbar indicator for remaining inventory available for Cargo Containers

In ships/rovers/etc., it would be nice to be able to drag Cargo blocks onto the toolbar and have an indication of how much inventory space for that container (or container group) is currently being used.
Would be helpful with mining so that one could see the progress of filling cargo containers. We can already (sort-of) check our ship's current mass for a real-time indicator of inventory use, but obviously mass is different than volume.
Could be as simple as a progress bar that slowly fills overlaid on the image of the cargo container on the toolbar.
