Suggestion/request: Datapads used with programmable block

I feel like an entire realm of function, role playing, economy and other aspects could be opened up by having the ability to make programmable blocks interact with datapads. The API could allow for finding named datapads in containers, or the programmable block itself could have an inventory slot/conveyor access to allow for specific items, like data pads or other relevant objects. This would allow actual data being moved, persistent memory options, password cards, and more.
