[Suggestion] Modular Ship Weapons

As many people have pointed out in the past, Space Engineers' combat system is somewhat lacking; especially in the weapon choices department. I believe that one method of fixing this issue would be the addition of modular ship weapons.

As it stands, there is very little customization that can be done with "regular" weapons - without diving into player-made weapons, there is nothing available to modify the existing options into something more interesting. Adding modular weapons would drastically increase variety in offence, while improving on the 'engineering' part of Space Engineers - all with a handful of blocks.

For example, an engineer is having issues with their turrets being unable to hit a fast-moving target. Without modular weapons, they would be forced to either add more turrets on the off chance one of them hits, or install a mod. Neither of these are good solutions.

With modular weapons, the engineer could, for example, add a block (similar to the existing upgrade modules for production) that increases projectile speed but lowers damage.

All in all, modular weapons would help add variety to combat and create more options for players, without the balancing and menu nightmare that would be adding more conventional guns.
