Sugestion: Rail Block

The Idea is some kind of block that could be placed and allow a piston/rotor head to move across one plane and transverse to and adjacent block of the same type. This would ease the creation of elevators and allow fast travel betheen to places with minimal user input (automated trains, easy to implement space elevator)
I know that it was sugested before but these treats are almost a year old and didn't gain any real traction, if keen software is not going to do this block for some reason (completely on their right) I would like a clear straightfowaard response on this.
Personaly I think that this could work as a expandable linear actuator that would be easier on the game engine than 8 pistons whit their respective subgrids.
