Steam Punk Engineers

Hey Keen.

So I've been looking at the many creations in the workshop and the creators have spoken. There is definitely an appetite for a physics based Steam Punk Engineers. Imagine building trains, steam engines, cranes, road vehicles, naval ships, biplanes, and airships all set in a Punk Victorian Industrial era. Picture a world with terrain much like Medieval Engineers but with a dynamic ecosystem with weather, NPCs (birds, cats, dogs, horses, oxen, deer, wolves, fish, sharks, whales, and humans), open seas, beaches, rivers, plains, and paved roads and rail lines leading from one town to another. Some towns would be on the coast or have a river run through them but these towns would be barren for players to build in, save for a street grid and an inbound and outbound rail line, and a large open flat area where a runway and hangar could be built. In this world would be multiplayer challenges like races, battles, obstacles, and missions to challenge creators' engineering skills. Because the nature and time period of the game, some aspects of the game like survival and resource acquisition could be minimized (farms could be in the game but would be nonfunctional, but ore and mineral mines would be a resource spawn site once a player develops it). I wouldn't say voxels would be a necessity, but craters as an after effect of a contraption crashing into the ground would be a sight to behold. With that in mind, misuse of elements like fire, electricity, hydro dynamics, and thermal dynamics would be hazards that players would have to mitigate if they want their creations to not just function but remain safe and intact. Aside from creations being destructible, they should also be combustible, explosive, or susceptible to water and/or electrical damage.

So what do you think? I haven't seen anything out there quite like this.
