PvP

I've always seen Space Engineers as two things.

A somewhat realistic game that allows players to experiment with their imagination with connecting to the game and its mechanics, that in a way, has not been done with any game before its kind.

And PvP Potential. Me and my group of friends recently got back into Space engineers to play and practice building designs from scratch. We are always trying to improve are ability to create instead of finding something off the workshop.

Anyways, back to the reason I am sending this feedback. My friends and I discussed the potential this game has for PvP and love the possibilities. Even though the game has made great strides to improve multiplayer over the last two years, I feel like the game still does not promote a well enough PvP environment unless mods are involved. What I mean by this is Ship to Ship combat for just the standard game is kinda bland, with severely limited options when it comes to weapons systems. Have your choice of fixed and gimbals of Gatling and rocket turrets, and well that's just not enough.

I've played on servers before with weapon mods and just the variety of weapons is amazing. My friends and I spent like ages just doing weapon testing to see what worked best. Cannons, different kinds of turrets, plasma, energy, and rail guns. I'm a huge fan of the Halo Universe so of course having anything remnant of a MAC gun from Halo is going to make me want to play the game.

But in general, and I'll leave off with this, make ship combat more dynamic. I think I spent 10 minutes on the main menu of SE the other night just watching the background video play of the Reds attacking the Blue asteroid base, that stuff looks so cool. Got the surprise attack on the blue base with a devastating opening volley of rockets, the station breached as well, transport ships coming in and dropping marines off to secure the station while ship to ship fighters did their best to support their respective cruisers.
