PB API, GetAltitude at position

For now we can get altitude from IShipController but only at position of that block.
Can PB API be extended so we can get altitude at position passed as argument (Vector3D)?. At high velocity sometimes prediction is needed and for now there is no way to do that.
ex. what i mean is GetAltitudeAt(pos+velocity*predictionTime)
Secondly this GetAltitude(Vector3D) will allow scripts for path planning on planets.
