This is a year old and wanted to post on more current iterations of the game.


As many of you know, Keen just released the Economy Update for Space Engineers

August - 22 - 2019 [8-22-2019].


In anticipation for this release, I have been working on a series of builds that fit into the 25k PCU limit on Official Servers.

I personally play solo most of the time and over the years have greatly refined my designed to fit into practical ranges. I try to conserve where ever possible and play more for function and not visual appeasement. I find that usually comes naturally building a design to react to the environment.

There are a core set of ships I have whittled down to being required in my opinion for a single player or small faction.

Tug Craft

Dedicated Repair Craft

Dedicated Grinder Craft or Pit Array

Dedicated Drill Ship

Processing Station


These 5 are crucial in getting established in a efficient manner to then build a bigger main craft which can house and or take on the role of these craft.

Basically support creations.

This is important because with the current PCU settings on the Official Servers, past creations are still to great in PCU. I am having to go back to Creative mode and in some cases, completely redesign ships to fit with in 10k PCU limits.


For example a large Repair Craft I have created is currently 2090 PCU with the 5 Welder limit set in place. The Grinder Craft is essentially the same as the Repair however with the welders switched out and added landing gear to hold objects in place to grind. These PCU numbers seem to only go up greatly when used with Small Ship Parts on top of the lower carry capacity.


Those two craft put me at HALF of the allotted PCU so essentially I will only be about to create a small processing station of 1 refinery+4 modules, 1 assembler+4 modules, 1 reactor, 4 batteries, 1 Large Storage.


Rest of the PCU will allow for maybe the Tug and then after that a Hauler or Capital/Corvette/Cruiser/Frigate is out of the question.


So in conclusion I am here to bring awareness to this issue many people have complained about on multiplayer. I hope my explanation can give context to what the player is currently experiencing.
