Option to always save inventory in multiplayer on disconnect

I am playing with my friend on steam and when he logged out he lost all his inventory. Now I understand this is a "feature" but we don't necessarely want to worry about that, what if we just want to play without having to go back to a station at all times?
An option in the world setting to save everything regardless of wether or not we disconnected in a cryochamber would be simple and let people keep playing the way they want. Even if that's just casual non-realistic fun.
