New collision boxes + New Piston Sizes? (196)
I think is speak for a fair amount of people when i say i am floored by the new collision boxes. This opens up SO many possibilities, especially for those of us that love building contraptions.
But now, with all these possibilities, im running into an odd inconvenience. Piston length.
With so many new ways of being able to compact our moving parts, the old pistons are huge. to use the saying SE has in its loading screen: ""An optimist will tell you the glass is half-full; the pessimist, half-empty; and the engineer will tell you the glass is twice the size it needs to be"
Our standard pistons are too big in some cases. (or too short, but i feel that argument has been around for as long as the piston has been.)
So, my thought for a new feature (block) is a few new pistons.
1. A 1x1x1 Piston that extends 7.5m
2. A 1x1x3 Piston that extends 22.5m
-(Following the original piston length logic)
3. A Large conveyor piston for small ships. I dont really think it would need to be any longer than the small piston, just wide enough for the large conveyor. But in all fairness for the grids, all sizes would be nice for completion
Also, a thought. Would it be possible to make it so that when the piston head is fully retraced it is flush with its surroundings? At the moment its just a few millimetres off, causing you to place the piston a block further back and extending it a certain length to fall flush with things.
