Multiplayer - check respawn points before joining

Many times I have to join a server and wait (some times a long time) just to find out that my base is gone. It would be nice to have a way to check the respawn points before joining a server, even if it takes a few seconds (better than many minutes). I'm more interested to know my own spawn points (or faction that I'm in) than any other - if that makes it easier/quicker.
