Losing the Suit: The ultimate goal of a space engineer

A major point of space engineering is to create sustainable environments away from earth. The true test of that is whether one can live comfortably as they do on earth, with no space suit. Here's my proposal...

Removable spacesuits: You will be wearing a NASA-style jumpsuit of the same color you've set your spacesuit to. You have no need to maintain power, and have no need or ability to maintain oxygen. Helmet is effectively off as well. Totally dependent on a habitable environment.

Effects: However, the effect is that you move, run, jump, weld, grind, and drill faster when not in a spacesuit. Your weapon fire also has less variation from the target (you are more accurate). However, spacesuits would absorb some low level of incoming damage, but not nearly as much as armor (see below).

Necessary blocks, changes, other:

1) Medical Room: do away with this block entirely.

2) Medical Bed: The Medical Bed is something one can lay in, but ONLY if they are not in a spacesuit. This will heal you as you lay in it, from any percentage, to 100%.

3) Suit Supply Block: This is a block that looks like a set of oxygen and hydrogen nozzles, and a power cord. It is used to recharge and refuel a spacesuit, but provides no medical help.

4) Suit changing station: This block looks something like the 'armory' block. It is the only place/way to put on or take off a spacesuit. It is also where you customize your spacesuit as you did with the medical room before. This block is also the only way to put on other kinds of suits (see below).

5) Survival Kit: Operates as before, but heals more slowly than Medical Bed, and only up to 80% (from any lower level).

6) Medpacks: This is not a block, but these items now heal the slowest, and will not work if you are less than 20%, and will only heal up to 70%. If lower than 20% you must have a Survival Kit or Medical Bed.

Armor:

While not wearing a spacesuit, you are free to wear other kinds of suits. One of these is combat armor. Combat armor provides protection from damage superior to spacesuits. It slows you by the same amount, but does not provide environmental protection and requires no power.

Notes:

Having better motion, no power/fuel needs, and the option for combat armor - plus needing to unsuit to have total medical treatment, gives much more incentive to create a habitable environment. And, the fact that you can only change into a suit from a suit station means that a hull breach is more significant.
