KEEEEEEEEN! Please clarify the purpose of the new hydrogen engine.

Is it supposed to produce power from ice as a generative process? Is it supposed to simply use hydrogen as an emergency energy option, like a battery? as a player that doesn't like to do math, please tell me where you intend these blocks to fit into the game.
