Inventory & control Panel Improvment
Currently, having multiple grids connected makes the inventory and control panel unusable. (See the inventory and control panel on splitse's "survival maybe" base) It gets so convoluted and messy without meticulously adding tags to the beginning of every single block on the grids. Here is how the inventory&control panel (I&C) need to change.
A.) Be able to hide inventories as we can hide control panel tabs
B.) Let us Manually move control panel tabs and inventories around, ignoring the alphabetical order.
C.) Add the airtight connector mod to the game.
D.) Organization
- Both the airtight connector and default connector will have two settings. The first, and default setting will recognize connected grids as docked ships and the second setting will recognize them as subgrids. (Though technically in the code they are both subgrids)
- A subgrid set connector (For things like turrets and the like) will work mostly the same as how connectors work as of 10/24/18. But in the I&C, you have an option to choose the color of the subgrid text and whether or not it gets alphabetically sorted into the rest of the I&C or if it is placed at the bottom or top of the list.
- A docked grid will automatically place the I&C of each ship into separate folders and WILL NOT intermix the I&C of each ship.
E.) Two types of groups, The first, the same as of 10/24/18. The second will be a folder in which all of the subjects in the group are hidden. Groups can also be hidden entirely, not just the subjects they contain. Groups can be moved around.
F.) Let us be more specific in terms of what is automatically transferred through connectors.
G.) Slow Item Transfer. A simple change that adds a lot. Instead of being able to instantly transfer items around in your ship, it should take a while. When you move a stack of items from one inventory to another, that stack gets added to a "Transfer Queue" which appears somewhere on the inventory screen in a similar style to the production tab. It will show what and how many items are being moved and will have a progress bar for each item just as in production. Items in your personal inventory, however, will instantly transfer too and from inventories that you're directly interacting with. Furthermore, if a tech tree is added and it includes tiers of blocks. The higher tier of the conveyor, the faster the items will move.
