Hydrogen engine converts ice, whether I want it or not.

So I like the new hydrogen engine. But the problem is that it always wants to fill it's tank, and will always use the ice in an 02/h2 generator first. But what if I don't want to have the ice go to the engine? For instance when I want to keep some ice in the o2/h2 generator for the medical bay to fill my suit's h2 and o2 tanks. Sure, this can be "solved" by having a separate o2/h2 gen for the engine, but that's going to be hard right at the start in the space ship spawn. And I don't think I'm alone in wanting to connect the engine to a conveyor system without it using up all the ice.
The engine should have a "fill tanks" on/off button in my opinion.
