Gears and Gear System

I would love to see in the game gears and gear plates like we would see from Medieval engineers.

This could allow us to make good cargo lift elevators and tracks that respond to gears only and make a mobile pad to move things in one direction.
Mainly there has been no real good way for elevators to exist in-game, without summoning clang with rockets or thrusters or pistons.
Just some food for thought.
