For Modders Consideration - For Keen's Consideration
Hi Everyone.
I have a question...
Why hasn't anyone (modder) and especially Keen developers NOT made a medium block set? We have medium cargo containers, medium conveyors... but no other medium blocks... But in regards to the conveyor and containers, we can attach medium (even if they are in the small blocks category) welders to them... Cool right? Nope... unless you want that welder in a static place. What if you need to extend towards what needs to be welded like one would do for say a 'printer'? WHY ISN'T THERE A MEDIUM or COMPACT PISTON that can attach to conveyor port?
I have another issue...
Why have the developers decided that small projectors can only project small block designs, and large projectors can only project large block designs? It's a HOLOGRAPHIC projection of a blueprint. Does it really make a difference to the projector what the size of the blocks the blueprint uses is? Question #2 in this issue: Have any of the mod gods tried to change this and if so, PLEASE give me a link...
This is the crux of the problem for me... with all the emphasis on building smaller PCU builds and block limits and dealing with lag and whatnot, it just seems to me that the game is geared so that one HAS to make massive builds with massive machines. Why? Why can't a small piston pull the materials needed to weld a large block? Why does the welder have to be so massive? Small piston, small welder... smaller build, more efficient...
Will you please consider putting in a smaller welder for smaller printing builds, and consider increasing the # of MEDIUM sized blocks to make small block builds more diverse and feasible, without the need for mods?

It would be nice if I could build a printing machine that prints a large block tunnel using a small block mobile printer that drives through it.... without the printer needing to be a massive unit in itself.
