Environmental effects on Planets
Submitted
Basically make them more visually appealing with some decent audio effects.
- when the Sun rises behind a Mountain some snowdrifts would add up to the scenery
- frozen Rivers and Oceans which "divide Land" and give the Planets some organic touch
- Wind waves some grass and Trees (as well as thrusters sould do)
- Rain falls from time to time and forms drops on a Cockpit or the Visor of your Helmet
- Cloudlayers which drop some simple Shadows and maybe getting stuck on Mountains
- visible tracks of Wheels in the Snow
- Caves and Stone arches
- Forrests with more than one Treetype and a dead one
- more Bushtypes and grass types
- layered Rock (Strata - see Attachment)
- Mirage effects (heat Haze/shimmer)
Nothing of the above would add up to gameplay (except maybe Wind that drags/pushes, heavy Rain leaves you as blind as Clouds and Fog do and Tracks tell others your position) but the World would feel less plastic/abstract and more alive. They would impact the performance but you can always turn them off/reduce them.
I don't care for liquid Water but i want to hold on and just watch the scenery for a Moment or two.
