Cost of components and ores

At the moment, the only resource required on an industrial scale is iron. Silicon, Nickel, Cobolt must be replenished extremely rarely, and these are the same starting resources (except for Cobolt). Iron is used for all frequently created components (plates, pipes, building components). I think it would be better to include other resources in the cost of these components, at least in small quantities.

Now ores are created in the form of thin layers. This makes mining ineffective and in some cases simple. Why not make deposits of different shapes, like in asteroids?
