Can't change SHIELD material technique textures

I can add SHIELD technique to any models, but cannot get the textures to change, they always use the safezone default textures of hexagon

I would like to be able to use this new technique in other models but can't change the textures even if I use definitions in sbc, which I assume are only linked to safezone functionality.

I know its using the right material technique, as seen in that video, but cannot substitute my textures unless I use my model as a safezone addition.
