Another: "Air Vent Depressurization into Full Tank causes massive lag" -report

Small ship grid.

In planet atmosphere.

Oxygen tanks full, set to not stockpile.

Air Vents set to depressurize.

About 30 air vents or so spread around inside ship, several compartments.

Were set to depressurize since before I closed off all leaks in ship.

Worked fine, no lag for 2 weeks straight of building, up until I pressurized ship.

Some lag, then was ok for a while, continued building inside ship.

Then suddenly, after about 15 minutes, the game practically froze.

Happened in the blink of an eye right after I placed a simple armor block.

1 frame per 10 seconds. Had no idea why.

Restarting game didn't work. Lasted 5 seconds, then game froze again.

Googled, found previous post closed.

Followed his advice, staggered to control and shut down air vents.

Zero latency immediately!

Could it have to do with the air vents going into a dangerous loop of path finding for leaks?

Do block placement inside pressurized ship affect how they calculate flow?

SOLVED!

As I was writing this, I decided to try removing all but one Air Vent.

With only 1 Air Vent on the ship, there was no latency at all.

But it feels off that they would be such a strain on the game.

My processor and RAM oddly enough had no spikes during the freeze. Their performance were a flat line before and during freeze.

Rebuilt the air vents to test if the problem reappeared. So far it has not, but I expect it will, and can't risk it. If it happens when I'm more than a meter away from a control panel, the game is lost.

Please look into this. This means problematic redesigning of ships if one cannot have air vents in different sealed rooms.

Best Regards
