AI/Drones Capabilities have been neglected too long

AI/Drones capabilities have been neglected for some reason in Space Engineers. I believe the Remote Control block should be capable of these base three features:

For sake of performance, maybe limit each controlling grid 3 drones it can pilot.

Create 3 scripts.

1: Mining Drone Script. Finds selectable ores. Mines them and returns them to the station. Then Loops.

2: Trade Drone. Travels to Economy Stations and makes a purchase for the player and returns to the player's designated station.

3. Escort Drone. Follows the mothership and engages enemies within range.

I believe this leaves enough room for further improvement in the workshop, and gives the players enough of a baseline to significantly improve the game.

It is my belief that the "open ended" argument is running a bit too thin at this point and a decision needs to be made by the development team. Are drones and AI a feature or can we do away with the feature all together? The current broken Autopilot is not cutting it and broken according to numerous workshop drone scripts. Either support a feature or don't. Having a broken feature that the players can't fix is much worse than no feature at all.
