add option to disable automatic slow darkness adjustment in dark areas

this issue had been with the game forever,
if youre looking at a cave or hole in a ship like a hangar you can clearly look into it but as soon as youre in a dark area the game slowly adjusts your vision to pitch black, i can work around this issue by turning off shadows, but thats really not an option, it makes the game very ugly
because of this issue its impossible to look outside from an enclosed cockpit effectively.
