Hello Keen,
Instead of having ores, big and small, de-spawn over time - why not have them merge with the ground (voxel geometry)?
This could apply to planets as well as asteroids.
This way, players other than those with admin powers could fill undesirable holes with rock and not have to worry that much of potholes and the like, or stack snow on the sides of buildings (to simulate snowfall/-storms on their builds.
