I don't need GPS auto turned on

While doing tasks such as bounty contracts the GPS and antenna/beacon signals can become mixed and so I don't have an accurate tracking on where the target is. I turn the GPS off and it turns itself back on again while I'm flying around. When the GPS signal creates itself at the start of a mission it obviously makes sense that it should be visible. But if I turn it off then it should stay off.
