Merge Blocks will not [reliably] work at speeds above ~40m/s

If a grid is moving faster than that speed, the merge blocks will show white (powered on) but not even yellow (detect other merge block) much less connect. When you slow down/stop, unless some impact or movement causes the game to update, odds are those merge blocks won't detect each other and merge until you do. Or cycle power on them.

I have several grids where I rotate thrusters for extra lift in gravity or wings for drop ships and I have to take care to do so when not moving fast b/c if they don't merge, the grid won't even work right, much less the klang potential with a loose subgrid flapping around.

Very occasionally, if you swerve the grid around using gyros you can get the grid to update & the merge blocks to lock. Most of the time, however, they going on ignoring each other.

I *think* this is because by the time a merge block can check on the proximity of nearby merge blocks, the grid has moved in 3d space, but the reference to the original merge block hasn't. So the game thinks proximate blocks are far apart.
