suggesiton: Archive Computer, archive core, archive terminal
so! you know how minecraft has books you cna write in? basically a set of computers ingame that serves that funciton,
the archvie core is a central 'brain' of it all and is what connects the rest together, and has expansion ports for memory modules to icnrease storage capacity (possibly with both a spire and cubic model, with the spire allowing to connect the core to multiple floors by connecitng to a cubic core?)
the archive computer is like a control console and allows one to actually manage the core, looking through everything stored, reorder, rename edit, delete copy whatever its the admin core of the system (it might be cool if the core could store scripts in each memory module because than this arrangement can act as a true central computer for bases/ships with the archive computer being a central nerve point)
and the archive terminal is a basic read/write browse that, as long as its connected to the same grid can access and search any book/data file on file in the core as well as create your own.
this would allow for players to replicate similar feats such as the library server form minecraft, or recreate how things like the star ship enterprise works (computer wise) and could, with the right arrangement be a true tie in to all the core systems of a grid (such as a built in script that tracks grid changes (deleting oldest logs unless saved by whatever limit is set) player logs, books, scripts all in one place and tying blocks together directly maybe something like a 'tag' system where players can earmark blocks int he control with an identifier that can than be tied to a programmable block/timer block allowing players to manage any expanded functions by checking the target instead of going through the programmable blocks or by setting up 'rooms' of devices in the grid (like artificial subgrids) i.e.
i ran away with this but the idea is the core is just a central tying block with expansion modules to add functionality and memory, computer for administrating and setting up a computer control system, in one place and the terminals to allow for ingame writing, allowing for rp or player made logs, books, recreating their favourite shows or whatever, and could be a great way to build a open ended way to expand features in the future, though this may require a control panel that can somehow scroll and add/remove tied blocks and create/assign/remove 'room grids' on the fly, which may be a technical limitation, but i can see the core as being a very good way of ting blocks together into rooms or systems into one interface instead of switching between them allowing for more organisational customisation (combined with the ability to write text files that can be managed made and read in game) allows for a true "central computer" feature
