Dangerous Salvaging, Scraping and Shipbreaking
This could work for both SE1 and SE2 but I be more talking more about SE2 but like other SE2 things it could allways be adapted for SE1.
I feel like SE2 give us way too many chances for free stuff via grinding down points of intresst. when factions and reputation is added im sure some of that will be solved but i think adding some base danger to Salvaging, Scraping and Shipbreaking would improve the game and help with this issue.
I sugest that some blocks are dangerous to grind down without being preped beforehand. this prep could be as easy as truning the block off or depowering it. below is a list of blocks i have in mind that could be dangerous to just grind down without prep.
Tanks- a filled tank will vent its contents when ginded down protentaly exploding but protentaly just doing damage to the player or blocks. Tanks that expolde will lose all remaining compoents in them.
Battries- a battiery with a powermodule in will shock you if you grind it down protentaly killing you if it has enouth power. other electical blocks could do this too.
thusters- Thusters might give a bust of thust when grinded down when powred and able to funtion. when thust damage is added it will do the same as that.
reactors- could explode if grinded down when fuled and on. will leak if giridned down with fule in.
Weapons and cargo contatiners with ammo inside- can explosde when grinded down without the ammo being removed frist.
i can see some conterpoints to this that i would like to adress.
"wont this make ginding pits and ships unseable?" no i dont think so. you could armour them up and acepet you might lose some ginders or need to repair them (that allready happens from time to time in SE1 with grinding pits) or take a few minites to make the thing you want to grind down safe for the pit or ship. if its something you made it be very quick since you know where all the dangerous blocks are and mostly need to depower it all for it to be safe.
"how will this effect hacking?" ok i give this will effect the current way of hacking in SE1. a work around for it might be nedded or it could add some danger to hacking. In SE2 hacking could be diffrent so it might not even effect it.
"but wont this make savlageing wrecks more dangerous? both the pvp, pve and encounters ones?" Yes thats the point of this suggestion.
