Currently there is an imbalance in space engineers, namely people building a base in deep space and coming to planets to attack ground bases. this causes serious problems for noobs who want to start on planets, namely some unscrupulous people (ahem, engi, AHEM) just can go around destroying starter bases. this leads to people quitting and just giving up on the game. Currently, anyone who wants to can find a base on planets because of voxel distortion. A decent radar that only works in 0g would fix this and make you have to defend your base or hide it better.


If anyone is worried about people just turning it on and off so they see everyone and no one sees them, I would set it, so it has to broadcast for say, 10 minutes at the range you want to scan and only detects large grids over a certain pcu. This would help balance space because right now I could easily go into deep space and never be found, and with an alt account, I could easily make a large printer and miner set up and just go around killing people with a 18k pcu warship. This is an annoying issue, and I hate seeing people quit after logging on to a destroyed base. hopefully, this would make people set up more defenses on their space bases and spend less time griefing.

and if you do not care about noobs getting griefed, this would mean more space PvP.
