Automaton Block for Mining / Welding / Grinding (Worker Block)

Hi guys,

I know, Automaton Blocks are out there for a while now but I recently started to take more attention to them. They are great by the way. You can setup paths for hauling or whatever, you have combat AI for devensive or offensive behavior ... but when it comes to gain ressources there is something missing:

- I can setup a route to let the drone move to a certain spot (asteroid for example)

- I can use event block to let the drone stop the drills and move back home when cargo is full

BUT

I can not tell the drone what to do when it reaches the asteroid. It would be really awesome to have some king of Automaton Block for Mining (or well, maybe even other purposes like grinding/welding)?

My ideas to that:

Every miner / mining drone has certain block onboard to be able to do its work as usual: Drills of course (or welder/grinding at other purposes), an ore detector, sensor and so on.

You should be able to tell the block what it shall do when it reaches position (okay, WHEN to start is part of the event controller):

- Use sensor for marking an area in front of you or to find a way through passages whithin an asteroid and collision prevention or something like that

- Use ore detector to let the drone search for a certain ore or just any kind of ore. Could be done with blacklist/whitelist. Similar to what the sorters have, just for detection instead of sorting. But the function already exists in some way. Maybe even the option that also stone is accepted for drilling down the whole asteroid. Yes in some cases even stone is very welcome ;-)

Just in case, mining is not enough and grinding/welding is an option too:

- Send a drone to a certain spot

- Drone get the task to look for block within a specified range which need to build/repaired.

or

- Drone get the task do grind down whatever is close by. I have seen something like that in some encounters before (Blue Ambassador with grinding drone?), but this was not done with Automaton block.

Anyways ... since it could be more than just an automaton block for mining, there could be some switch selection, what kind of task you want it to do: mining, welding, grinding. So it wouldn't be an Automaton block just for Mining, but an automaton block for ... production? building? construction? Finding a good word for is somewhat the most difficult ... field work? or just worker automaton?

Anyways ... actually I am using scripts like PAM for automated mining. Honestly, I am using plenty of scripts, most of them are just nice to have and I could live without them if really needed (for example to switch off experimental mode) but automated mining is so essential, the more if you are not playing with dozens of other people. Such an "Automaton Worker" block would be just awesome.
