Static block weapons should not be 100% fixed.
The current implementation doesn't really make a lot of sense. When you place a a cockpit on a grid and also add off-centered static block weapons, these weapons should be able to adjust for the offset by angling and converging with the centered forward crosshair view line at a certain distance.
- If there is a grid or voxel target, this distance should be determined by the distance to that target.
- There should be a predetermined maximum angle. If the target is too close, or the weapons spread too far apart, it should be as close as possible, but never further than this maximum angle.
- If there is no target, the angle should still be slightly inward, setting the conversion somewhere near but beyond the maximum range.
It's not unreasonable to want to place your weapons off-centre, but it's rather silly to then have to choose to hit your small target with either your left side or right side weapons and missing 50% of your shots because of it.
Real life fighters face the same problem and use a similar fix. I've played lesser games that implemented this fix, so you guys at KeenSWH should be able to do this to, right?
