increase connection distance for small inset connector

the new connector is great for getting small crafts into large grid ships. the problem is that, as it is inset, u need to get a whole side of the small grid touching the large grid, thing that, can lead to some really explossive damage and problems when using 1x1 wheels and having the connector at the bottom. could it be possible to increase the distance at which the connedtor considers it is able to connect?
