Block suggestion: inset rotor
* All sizes are given in small grid armor blocks. *
It's a large-grid-only block.
it have an airtight 5x5 bottom, and 4 airtight 5x5 sides. Top is open.
Inside is a low profile rotor block. Probably basic rotor without conveyor.
When it have large grid head attached (standard), it's nothing special. Rotor is adjusted so head is a flush with the top of the block. Probably same with medium small-grid head attached.
But
when it have small small-grid head attached, and fully retracted, it sits so low that 2 small grid blocks can be attached on the top of it and still be inside the large block. (So surface of the small rotor head is 2 small blocks deep. )
Use?
To put it into the bottom or the top of hangar deck without losing the air tightness. And small blocks inside would be the projector and small merge block on top of the projector, may be also timer or sensor.
Without it, the hangar deck needs a pit with a regular rotor, walls. and some small blocks like armor blocks for height adjustment, projector and merge block, so small gird craft can be welded together.
