Aim the ship where the player wants instead of rotating the ship based on input

Similar to War Thunder, Starmade, and other games, implement a system where you have a second crosshair that you control directly that tells the ship where to aim, and the ship catches up on it's own.


Attached is a video mock up of this. Note that there is no crosshair where the ship is currently aiming, which is a limitation of my setup.

The advantages of this system would be:


No player input lost because they moved their mouse faster than what the game can handle

Able to see your ship as it rotates - gives a greater sense of movement

Easily perform more precise movements without having to use your brain as much

No need for players to fight ping when they have subgrids on their ships
