Subgrid Jump Drives

Currently, jumping a grid doesn't take into account mechanically attached (pistons, rotors, etc...) sub grids. When testing a blind jump with three jump drives, one of which was on a piston, the total range was only 4000 km instead of what should've been 6000 km. Can jumping take into account mechanically attached subgrids?
As an extension, extending this functionality to grids attached via connectors would allow two connected ships to extend each others jump range, allowing you to "tow" another ship or act as a support for temporarily extending another ship's jump drive capacity.
