Weather Modifies Turret/AI Block Detection Range

Is there a way to specify a modifier and/or maximum range for grid/player detection for turrets, turret controllers, and AI Blocks based on the active weather type? I'd love to be able to use dust storms and the like to sneak up on enemy bases, but I can't find any way to access the current weather, or specify such a modifier/limit in the weather definitions.
Being able to do it in a weather definition like:
<characterDetectionModifier>0-1</characterDetectionModifier>
<characterDetectionLimit># of meters</characterDetectionLimit>
and the same for <smallGrid...> and <largeGrid...>
