Reactive Textures

Some textures are variations of the basic, I suggest a recourse that make the basic texture adapt the situation.
Example, In the Triton planet, the texture turn "Frozen armor". In Pertan became "Dust Armor Skin". After an explosion became "Heavy Rust Armor".
It can be make if we think the texture in layers.
First layer: Solder Pattern
Second layer: Material
Third layer: Color
Fourth layer: Details like ice, dust or rust
