Constructive Game Improvements on Economy: Space Engineers

Hello!


After months of exhaustive research on your game "Space Engineers" and talks with the community my team of game reinforcement gathered enough information to send you this email with constructive feedback on Space Engineers. Everybody on our game development team loves Space Engineers and we play the game very often during our breaks.


The community of the game loves your new updates, especially the Warfare Broadside II update. Here are some improvements your team can do for the players.


Economy:

-LISTING FEES: Players love Space Engineers but they truly want a fully working economy system. I understand that for that you have placed the Vending Machine and Store blocks. For putting items on sale on these blocks they must pay a listing fee of Space Credits. Players request this listing fee to be adjustable by the owner of the station and for these fees to be paid to the same owner or faction that owns the station. Of course that would be a problem that would need to be configured by changing the small blocks and large blocks properties to be also capable of having an owner. So we suggest adding a block called a "Trade Waver Block", which is a configurable block that just like the safe zone block can be set to create a configurable field, in this case this area trapped inside the Trade Waver Block would be the one who targets the owner of that Trade Waver Block so the Vending Machines and Store blocks consider the owner of the Trade Waver Block as the target to receive the listing fees from the people making sales on his or her area.

-MINIMUM PRICE: Players often cannot compete against NPC prices on vending machines or store blocks. For that we recommend that there is no minimum price per item on the Store Blocks, instead, for players to have a better orientation of what price to set on an item add a text below the price box where the player sets the price, this text will display the average price of the item selected to put on sale so that the player can set the price based on the average but not forced by the average price, or in this case, the minimum price.

-SHIP SELLING: It would be nice if players can sell their ships in the store, of course this is difficult because once the ship is bought "Where does the ship spawn?" So we figured out that it would be good for the game to have a specialized store block for selling ships and vehicles, therefore a new block apart from that one would be needed, a spawn block. When a player wants to sell a ship they enter the ship within the spawn block range, they access the store block and but it on sale, immediately the ship despawns and is saved inside the spawn block (Spawn Block and Ship store block must have an option to link one block to the other). When a player buys the ship the ship spawns within the spawn block area and the owner to of the ship is set to the player who bought it.


User: Sulton Systems said on your web page of Keen Software House: "Also be able to set our own prices for stuff we put on shop block, keeps defaulting to price set by game, I want to undersell the npc vendors".

User: Dave Ronnert said on your web page of Keen Software House. "I want the players to be able to come to my trading hub and freely list their own products for sale but that won't happen if so much money simply disappears into the ether"

" For anyone that isn't familiar, when going into the Administration tab for a Store block, when you select an item to sell, the server automatically gives you a suggested price. You can increase this value, but you cannot enter a value below the suggested amount. IMO, this makes the store block completely worthless for anyone wanting to setup a player ran shop."

User: Or Eichen said on your web page of Keen Software House: "there should be no limit on the price range, maybe to have a base of 1 or something like this, but the default base price makes this store block useless for anyone who wishes to build his own trade station."
