Lock-on reticle / Lead Indicators Must Not Hide When Crosshair is set to Always Hidden

I play with no crosshair and use a mod [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1696120479] to enable the crosshair whenever I need to.
With the Broadside update, I was expecting for the reticle to remain visible as it doubles as a pipper / gun sight but it turns out that you need the crosshair to have a visual indicator of a lock on.
It would be nice for some of us engineers to have the reticle to remain active without the crosshair.
