Conveyor port access on some blocks stop working

A couple of hours into a game session I noticed that a port that I had just used stopped working, in fact a couple of ports did, other ports were still OK.
The first time I noticed this happening when manually transferring items from the connector port on my vessel into a station container. I filled my inventory from the connector and then moved over to the station connector, then emptied my inventory into the box. On the 2nd transfer from the connector, none of the side ports were working, I did get to use the large internal port on the connector instead.
This behaviour happened a second time on another ship, with other blocks.
