Loosing thruster particle effects

I loose the Particle effects every time i turn off the power of my ship mid flight.
I have to restart the game to fix it.
I turn off the power cause i can not stand the constant thruster sound at full speed with dampeners off when no thruster is fireing.... That is also the reason i want to learn VRAGE3 so i can make a Mod that fixes this. At least when i am able to find a download or link to one on the Keen homepage.....
