Collision Bug

I've been told that you guys have gotten these reports a lot, but I have some more info in case you need it (world file included). Here's exactly what I have done in this world since getting the game less than an hour ago:
Flew the red ship a little bit, not much.
Flew the blue ship into the green research base nearby.
Used the debug tool to shoot stuff.
Flew the ship at the green research base into the red ship.
Built my own ship and flew it into the green research base (this is when I encountered the bug).
My own hypothesis is that there is something wrong with the debug tool, but I am no developer
