Newly created ship won't move after detaching from platform

I built a little mining ship, starting by building up from the station platform, but after I deleted the blocks connecting the ship and the platform, the ship will not move in any direction. I tried creating the ship as a blueprint and then pasting it, but the ship does not show up anywhere while trying to paste, and clicking to paste does nothing (this also happens when trying to paste the blueprint on a grid). It doesn't seem to be a power issue either, attaching a reactor or solar panel does nothing to fix it (pretty sure power isn't a thing right now anyways, but just to be sure)
