[1.199.025] EOS Random Freezing

Slushtrap Gamer shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

When our server is nearing its load capacity, that is nearing 100% simulation load, and 10 or more players are present, at some random but frequently occuring point the server simply freezes. The log provided shows little out of the ordinary, however after the last input the server no longer registers anything, it cannot be stopped or restarted and so must be shut down with task manager.

Hello Engineer,

We're seeing that you're using a Torch server. Have you tried our default server manager instead? Are you having the same issues if you have? Could you please try it if you haven't?

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Would be difficult to test with those same circumstances, but the server is not strictly run from torch as its using the default manager found inside the torch folder due to not having proper access to steam. I'll see what i can do.

Still occuring with the newest update [1.200], but with lesser frequency during high loads.

The freezing appears to happen in the network buffer, seeing as the server stops writing messages to the clients who then quit due to recieving no message. Values as high as 705533 bytes pending in the network writer have been observed prior to losing connection, which further reinforces this as a network-related issue. Also observable are hideously large tick times, sometimes rising as high as 35 seconds or more.

Hello Engineer,

Unfortunately we don't offer Torch support. We will close this thread. If you're experiencing similar issues with the default server managed, please create a new thread in the PC section of the support forum.

Kind regards,
