Terrain voxel lods generating badly

The above image composite was taken looking at the same location, from the same location, after loading the save and changing the voxel quality setting between high, medium, and low.

The voxel.. spurs will disappear if you get too close, but return when moving further away, suggesting an LOD error.

The artifact exists on the same save (attached) when played on both my PC (RTX 2060 super), and my laptop (AMD Ryzen integrated something).

It isn't entirely consistent. sometimes I see 3 spurs on low, and sometimes 2. Medium sometimes sees 1, but often 2. High appears unblemished, at least at this location.

This isn't limited to the location in the attached save, it has been fairly consistently happening while traveling. I could likely turn around, drive for thirty seconds, and see it happen somewhere else.


Full resolution screengrabs of the above location at low, medium, and high voxel quality are attached, as well as the save file I loaded to test. No movement needed.

My reproduction is to load in to the save, either while voxel quality is set to low or medium, or change it to low or medium while in the game then unpause.
