It would be good if we could trigger jump drives via timer blocks, or AI/ automation blocks.


In my use case, capital ships may be disabled or destroyed thousands of kilometers from base, requiring autonomous escape shuttles to return engineers safely without manual piloting. Without AI-driven jump automation, these trips take excessive real-time travel, consume unnecessary resources, and add no meaningful gameplay challenge. Allowing AI blocks to trigger jump drives enables believable lifeboat behavior, reduces player downtime, supports uncrewed or minimally crewed designs, and improves quality-of-life while preserving balance through charge times, cooldowns, and range limits.


It would just make sense, rather then take hours or even a few days to travel automatically, why not 20 minutes with a few jumps and recharges. Just a thought, but I think it cold really make user experience a whole lot better.
