Mouse wheel and buttons on Kensington Trackerball mouse not recogized

Investigating

I just installed this game. The Mouse wheel and buttons on Kensington Trackerball mouse won't do anything. I have an arrow cursor which works and the buttons on the Menus highlight when I hover over them, but clicking does nothing.

I was able to start a game with my keyboard, which is when I learned my mouse wheel was unresponsive as well.

As I person with a disability, I depend on trackerballs. I also can't casually swap out mice.

Suggestions??

For what it's worth, I have two Kensington trackball mice that I'm using on SE, one wireless and one wired. Wired one's on Win11, Wireless is on Win10. Looks like the wireless model I have is K72675WW, while the wired one is a K72337.

All that's to say that it's probably not specifically related to the trackball's brand.

If you're using one of the Kensington wireless trackballs though, I'd suggest replacing the batteries. I've noticed that mine gets a bit dodgy as its batteries go flat, and it gets REALLY sensitive to position - like, turning it 10 degrees to the right or the left can make or break the connection. If you're shifting it around between starting the game and starting to play, that could possibly be it.

Otherwise, I can't help except to say "probably not the mouse" :(

Moonshade--

Thank you very much for your response. I am sorry about my late reply.

I agree, it not the trackerball. You're using yours just fine. I even get the same result when using MouseKeys-- I can move the pointer; it highlights on hover, but I can't click.

I DO thank you for your input as yours as been the only one thus far. I've been browsing around. Looks like I'm not the only one with this issue, and they weren't using trackerballs.

Anyway thanks :)
